Manpower is partnering with a leading manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Wigan
Hours: Monday - Friday (3-shift rotation)
Salary: £47,000 plus plenty of overtime available

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic maintenance team at a well-established manufacturing business serving the building and highways industry. You''ll work on a variety of equipment, play a key role in keeping production running smoothly, and have excellent opportunities to grow your career in a supportive environment.



Working Hours

This role operates on an 8-hour, 3-shift rotation:



Your Role and Impact

  • Carry out planned preventive and reactive electrical maintenance on production machinery and site systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring safe and timely resolutions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI, and automation systems (Siemens, Rockwell - Allen Bradley, GE, Mitsubishi, and Omron).
  • Perform system backups, modifications, integrations, and upgrades across controls and instrumentation.
  • Work with inverters, 3-phase motors, and site-wide electrical systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and electrical safety checks.
  • Collaborate with the production team to minimise downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical work, in line with compliance and safety standards.
  • Liaise with external contractors where required.



Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with PLC systems, automation, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to call-outs/shifts when required.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
