Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Looking for a-Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) to-play-a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and safety of electro-mechanical equipment across the site. The role is responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and continuous improvement activities, helping to minimise downtime and maximise production performance.
Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00 + on call every third week-
Working closely with Operations and Engineering colleagues, the successful candidate will provide both planned and reactive maintenance support while contributing to equipment improvements and engineering best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and condition-based maintenance on electro-mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Support continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and GMP standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system and support the management of engineering spares.
- Support technical development through ongoing training and mentor apprentices or less experienced engineers.
About You
The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer with strong electrical knowledge and excellent fault-finding skills, capable of working independently while contributing positively to the wider engineering team.
Essential Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
- Good understanding of PLC programming logic.
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671).
- Completed Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship (Electrical, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical).
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Skills & Experience
Experience in the following areas is essential or highly desirable:
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding on manufacturing equipment.
- PLC-controlled machinery, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (CMMS experience desirable).
- Experience within food manufacturing, grain milling or other high-volume production environments is advantageous.
