Job Title: Electrical Estimator Location: Devon and Cornwall Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 based on experience + benefits About the Company: We are recruiting Electrical Estimators for an MandE contractor operating across Devon and Cornwall, with a longstanding reputation for delivering high-quality electrical installations across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Due to sustained growth and a healthy pipeline of secured projects, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their dynamic team. Role Overview: As an Electrical Estimator, you will be a key part of the pre-construction team, responsible for accurately pricing electrical packages on a variety of projects ranging from small works to large-scale developments. This is a critical role that directly impacts the company’s ability to win work and deliver projects profitably. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates and cost plans. - Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive and competitive tenders. - Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best possible quotations. - Work closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure alignment of estimates with actual project requirements. - Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings when necessary. - Support value engineering and alternative design solutions to drive cost efficiency. - Maintain an up-to-date database of pricing and supplier information. Requirements: - Proven experience in electrical estimating within a building services or MandE contracting environment. - Strong knowledge of electrical systems, current regulations, and installation methods. - Proficient in using estimating software (e.g., Trimble/Amtech/Estimation or similar). - Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Full UK driving licence (preferred due to the regional nature of the business).
