Salary: £45-50k (DOE)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Overview

Our client, a well-established electrical engineering firm based in Halifax, is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimating Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a company known for its technical excellence and collaborative working environment.

The Role

As an Electrical Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of electrical projects. You’ll work closely with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure all specifications and drawings are interpreted correctly and costed effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret client specifications and drawings (including WIMES, civil & engineering).
• Prepare detailed estimates using software such as Trimble and Amtech ProDesign.
• Liaise with suppliers, clients, project teams, and site electricians.
• Ensure compliance with IEE Wiring Regulations, CDM, COSHH, and other statutory requirements.
• Support tender submissions, pricing variations, and final accounts.
• Attend site visits and meetings to support accurate costing.
• Monitor project cash flow and profitability.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in electrical estimating within a contracting or engineering environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of materials, buildability, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with cable calculations, lighting design, surge protection, and ATEX.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in estimating and design software is highly desirable.
