      <description>Location: Middlesbrough | Salary: Negotiable | Type: Permanent | Our client is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems across multiple assets.    Key Responsibilities:      Act as Electrical Subject Matter Expert across site operations and projects   Lead electrical design and review activities for new installations and modifications   Develop HV switching programmes and oversee electrical safety compliance   Support commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities   Conduct electrical studies including load flow, fault level, and protection grading   Ensure compliance with ATEX, DSEAR, and UK electrical regulations     Requirements:      Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering   Chartered Engineer status or working towards   CompEx (Ex01–04 essential; Ex12 desirable)   Experience within COMAH, oil &amp; gas, or chemical sectors   Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems and hazardous area equipment   Experience in roles such as Authorised Person or Authorising Engineer    This role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of critical electrical infrastructure within a safety-critical environment.
