Electrical Engineer

Contract Electrical Engineer Location: Hertfordshire / Cambridge Contract: Contractor We''re recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering team on a contract basis, supporting the design and development of innovative industrial and science equipment. The Role You''ll be responsible for delivering electrical designs for new product development, ensuring compliance with UK, EU and US electrical safety standards, and supporting testing, commissioning and product build activities. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you''ll contribute to the development of complex mechatronic systems from concept through to delivery. Key Responsibilities Design AC/DC power distribution and machine control systems. Develop and test electrical designs and machinery safety circuits. Produce and maintain electrical documentation and Bills of Materials. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical safety, EMC and machinery directives. Support product build, commissioning and validation activities. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external suppliers. Requirements Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). Proven experience designing industrial electrical systems. Strong knowledge of UK, EU and US (desirable) electrical regulations and standards. Experience with electrical CAD software, ideally EPLAN. Knowledge of EMC compliance, machine safety and industrial communications (RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet). ..... full job details .....
