We are currently working with an established and growing building services engineering consultancy based in Caterham, Surrey, who are looking to add an experienced Electrical Engineer to their team.
This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who enjoys getting involved in the detail of design and wants to be part of a small, technically strong and collaborative team.
The business has built its reputation around delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions across a range of sectors including commercial offices, education, retail, residential, hotels, restaurants and light industrial projects.
 
The Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in the design and development of electrical building services solutions across a varied project portfolio.
You will work closely with the wider engineering team to develop practical and efficient designs, contributing from the early stages of projects through to completion.
The role would suit an Electrical Engineer who is technically capable, commercially aware and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Producing electrical building services designs and calculations
• Developing electrical layouts and design solutions using AutoCAD
• Using Dialux and ElectricalOM for electrical design and calculations
• Working collaboratively with mechanical engineers and other members of the design team
• Supporting projects from initial concept through to detailed design
• Reviewing and developing practical engineering solutions
• Producing technical drawings, specifications and design documentation
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders where required
• Ensuring designs are technically sound, practical and compliant with relevant standards
• Contributing ideas and alternative solutions to improve project outcomes

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as an Electrical Engineer within building services / M&E consultancy
• Strong experience with Dialux
• Experience using ElectricalOM
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Experience with Revit would be advantageous, although it is not essential
• A strong understanding of electrical building services design
• Good technical and analytical skills
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
• A practical approach to engineering and problem solving
• Good communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues, clients and project stakeholders
