Electrical Engineer
I am recruiting on behalf of my client for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their highly skilled engineering team on an initial 12-month contract, with the potential for extension.
My client is a leading organisation within the aerospace sector, designing and manufacturing advanced electronic control systems used in safety-critical applications across commercial, defence and space programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished Electronics Engineer to work on technically challenging projects throughout the full product lifecycle, developing high-integrity electronic hardware within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. The role offers a hybrid working model, although increased on-site presence may be required during key project phases.
As an Electronics Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, verification and ongoing support of sophisticated electronic control systems, working closely with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet demanding aerospace standards.
The successful Electronics Engineer will be responsible for:
- Supporting the complete electronics design lifecycle from concept through to production and in-service support.
- Defining and documenting electronics requirements, specifications and design plans.
- Designing analogue and digital electronic circuits and developing designs through to PCB layouts and complete manufacturing drawing packs.
- Producing verification, validation and test documentation to support certification and manufacture.
- Participating in technical design reviews and presenting technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensuring all designs comply with applicable quality standards, engineering processes and regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with manufacturing teams and external suppliers to support PCB assembly, testing, integration and new product introduction.
- Providing technical support for manufacturing issues and in-service product investigations.
- A degree, or equivalent experience, in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least five years'' electronics design experience within aerospace or another highly regulated industry such as defence, nuclear or rail.
- Strong analogue, digital and low-power circuit design experience.
- A solid understanding of low-frequency analogue interface design.
- Experience using industry-standard ECAD software, with Mentor Graphics experience being advantageous.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) methodologies.
- Familiarity with EMC design principles and qualification requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- PCB layout experience would be advantageous.
- Naval engineering design experience would also be beneficial.
- Initial 12-month contract with potential for extension.
- Hybrid working, typically three days on-site and two days remote.
- 37-hour working week with flexible core hours.
- Contract rate around -72 per hour, with higher rates considered for exceptional candidates.
- The opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace technology within a world-class engineering environment.
- A collaborative and inclusive culture focused on innovation and technical excellence.
