Role Profile

Provide specialist low-voltage electrical, instrumentation and control engineering support across industrial, commercial and energy infrastructure projects.

Deliver engineering solutions throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through detailed design, installation, testing, commissioning and operational support.

Undertake preliminary design studies, engineering assessments and cost estimates.

Produce detailed electrical designs, schematics, schedules, technical reports, specifications and AutoCAD drawings.

Design LV electrical distribution and installation systems associated with energy-service plant, including power generation, CHP, steam, hot-water and associated systems.

Apply current electrical legislation, standards, regulations and industry best practice to all engineering activities.

Develop and integrate industrial control, instrumentation and Building Management Systems (BMS).

Prepare Functional Design Specifications (FDS), control-panel specifications, schematics and industrial control-system documentation.

Provide technical assurance of consultant, subcontractor and supplier designs, including design reviews and verification.

Support installation quality assurance and resolve technical issues arising during construction and commissioning.

Plan, coordinate and supervise electrical testing, verification and commissioning activities.

Coordinate internal resources and external specialist contractors to deliver engineering activities safely and effectively.

Provide technical support for electrical and control-system modifications, upgrades and operational changes.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including business development, estimating, mechanical engineering, commissioning, project management and operations.

Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers and statutory bodies.

Manage engineering workloads, priorities, resources and deadlines to ensure delivery of agreed scopes.

Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, quality and technical compliance.

Maintain knowledge of G99, G100, LV installation requirements and power-generation/distribution regulations.

Prepare clear and accurate engineering documentation and technical reports.

Use AutoCAD and relevant electrical design software for LV installation design; experience with Trimble or equivalent is advantageous.

Apply experience of CHP, boiler and plate heat exchanger (HEX) control systems where relevant.

Support or undertake Qualified Supervisor responsibilities for LV electrical installation works where required.

Hold a Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; IEng status or progress towards professional registration is desirable.

Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.

Work independently, take ownership of tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a changing project environment.

Build effective relationships and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
