Key Responsibilities:Managing all designers and engineers within your discipline, including utilisation, holidays, expenses, performance reviews, and time writingKeenly motivating and managing development and training plans for all staff employees in your disciplineReviewing, updating, and implementing all procedures, standards, guidance notes, and forms for your respective disciplineAccountable for all recruitment and resourcing of your disciplineAccountable for all proposals and estimates for your disciplineManaging quality of Engineering and Design in respect to your discipline for both single and multi-discipline projectsAppointing capable discipline checkers and approversResponsible for the Electrical design within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM, or EPC projectsDelivering projects across the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning, in both green and brownfield applicationsManaging and completing the electrical engineering and design within budget and planning, including change control and consistency with other disciplinesBeing client-facing and managing the client''s expectations in relation to the project scopeParticipating in internal and external design reviews and ensuring design acceptance by the clientMaking independent decisions on issues and providing expert technical support within electrical engineeringLeading projects in a multi-discipline environment and coordinating all electrical engineering and design with other disciplines (Mechanical, Civil and Structural, Process, and Automation)Effectively carrying out, checking, and approving Engineering and Design estimates, controlling, and reporting all costs on allocated projects regarding progress, scope change, and man hours
Job Requirements:Experience as a line managerExperience as Lead Engineer ECandI in multi-discipline projects within an Engineering / EPCM / EPC companyExperience in managing and implementing strict quality control and proceduresDeep knowledge of ECandI engineering and design, with a sound understanding of other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Process)Ability to forecast and control resources to ensure projects are fully utilised and recruitment is plannedMEng / BEng in ECandI EngineeringChartered Engineer or working towards ChartershipStrong understanding of key standards such as 7671, 7430, 61508, 61511, ATEX, DSEAR, LV, and HVExcellent planning and organisational skillsAbility to identify growth opportunities within the companyEffective delegation skills while maintaining oversight of the ECandI disciplineImplementation of solid change control procedures and ability to convince clients of budget and planning consequences of changesCapability to lead and motivate a team to achieve targets, even in the face of setbacksAbility to chair design review meetings
