This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys designing electrical systems from scratch and wants the opportunity to make a real impact. You will play an important role in developing the design function, with the opportunity to establish yourself within the business and grow alongside the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing electrical systems and projects from scratch.
• Producing detailed electrical design documentation.
• Creating DLDs, load schedules and termination drawings.
• Carrying out cable calculations using Trimble.
• Producing electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Working with other design software packages where required.
• Supporting the development and growth of the design function.
• Working independently as the first Design Engineer within the business.
• Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality designs.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer.
• Experience designing electrical systems from scratch.
• Strong experience producing DLDs, load schedules and termination drawings.
• Experience using AutoCAD.
• Experience using Trimble for cable calculations.
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering would be highly desirable.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of your work.
• A proactive approach and the ability to hit the ground running.
• Experience within the water industry would be highly advantageous.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within the water industry.
• Experience working within a transferable industry, such as utilities, infrastructure, engineering or other technically complex environments.
• Experience using a range of electrical design software packages.
• Experience working within a growing design function or building processes from the ground up.
