About the Role
A forward-thinking building services consultancy based in Plymouth is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role offers the chance to work on sustainable, low-carbon building projects across sectors including residential, education, commercial, and public buildings.
You’ll be involved in all stages of electrical design—from initial concept to detailed technical delivery—contributing to energy-efficient, environmentally responsible building solutions.

What You’ll Do
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency and fire alarm systems
- Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical drawings using CAD and BIM tools
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and support project delivery
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop integrated building services designs
- Ensure compliance with UK electrical standards and building regulations
- Assist with tender documentation and client liaison

What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 2–5 years’ experience in electrical building services design consultancy
- Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation tools
- Strong understanding of BS 7671 wiring regulations and CIBSE guidance
- Passion for sustainable design and low-carbon building solutions
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
