Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design & Delivery

Lead electrical engineering activities across water and wastewater infrastructure schemes, including treatment facilities, pumping installations, and wider network assets.
Develop and review electrical designs, calculations, specifications, schedules, and technical drawings in line with project requirements.
Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, legislation, and health & safety obligations.
Identify safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical solutions through optioneering and value engineering.
Provide technical input through construction, commissioning, and handover stages.

Power, Control & Instrumentation

Design and specify LV power distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, UPS, and standby power solutions.
Produce earthing, lightning protection, and cable sizing designs.
Coordinate with control and instrumentation specialists to ensure alignment with control systems, instrumentation, and telemetry requirements.
Review technical submissions from suppliers and contractors, including FAT and SAT documentation.

Project & Stakeholder Interface

Work collaboratively with mechanical, civil, process, and control disciplines to deliver coordinated engineering solutions.
Engage with project stakeholders including contractors, suppliers, and operational teams.
Contribute to design reviews, risk workshops, constructability reviews, and safety assessments.

Mentorship & Quality Assurance

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and developing engineers.
Carry out technical reviews and approvals of designs produced by others.
Support the ongoing development and improvement of engineering standards, templates, and best practice.
