Electric Powertrain Validation Engineer

Location: Stamford and Nottingham Temp basis for 12 monthsWe are seeking a hands-on Powertrain Test and Validation Engineer to support the development and validation of electric powertrain systems, focusing on Power Electronics (PE) and Motor/Generator (MG) technologies.The role acts as the key technical interface between the design engineering team and test facilities, ensuring accurate execution of validation activities, high-quality data capture, and effective root cause analysis of system issues.This position is highly practical, data-driven, and collaborative, requiring strong test execution capability combined with analytical problem-solving skills in an automotive electrification environment.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute and manage daily powertrain test cell activities (setup, commissioning, execution, teardown)Develop and execute test procedures for validation of PE + MG systemsTranslate engineering requirements into structured test plans and validation activitiesSupport instrumentation setup, DAQ configuration, and test rig readinessCollect, validate, and ensure integrity of test data prior to releasePerform post-processing and analysis using MATLAB and/or ANSYS toolsInvestigate system/component failures and perform structured root cause analysisApply Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and structured problem-solving methodologiesWork closely with design and simulation teams to correlate test vs simulation resultsGenerate technical reports and present findings clearly to ..... full job details .....
