EHS Manager
We’re looking for an experienced EHS Manager / Health & Safety Manager to join an established manufacturing site in Scotland. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with different teams and having the freedom to identify and implement improvements across a site.
The role covers both Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance, with the environmental side being particularly important.
The Role
Working alongside the Production and Engineering teams, you’ll take ownership of EHS across the site and help continue developing the existing systems, processes and culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and improving existing Safe Systems of Work and risk assessments.
- Identifying opportunities to improve health & safety standards.
- Supporting fire safety, housekeeping and wider risk management.
- Working closely with Production, Engineering and other departments.
- Developing Health & Safety representatives across the business.
- Monitoring environmental compliance and maintaining accurate records.
- Liaising with regulatory bodies and Scottish Water when required.
- Identifying areas for improvement and putting practical solutions in place.
- Developing a clear EHS plan and helping embed this across the site
About You
We’re looking for someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with a practical and approachable style.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience in an EHS / Health & Safety role within manufacturing or heavy industry.
- NEBOSH qualification as a minimum.
- Strong environmental compliance experience.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies.
- Good knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- The confidence to challenge and influence when required.
- A practical, hands-on approach.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
You’ll be comfortable working independently and building relationships across Production, Engineering and the wider business.
The Opportunity
This is a standalone EHS position where you’ll have the opportunity to make the role your own.
The business is investing in its site and equipment and wants someone who can bring fresh ideas, identify opportunities and help continue developing its EHS standards.
If you're looking for a role where you can have genuine ownership, work closely with the wider management team and see the impact of your work, this could be a good fit.
