HSE Manager

  • Location: Slough, United Kingdom
  • Start date: October 2025. 6 month rolling contract
  • Rates: -400500 per day (depending on experience)

Turner Lovell are recruiting an experienced HSE Manager to join a leading EPC Principal Contractor, on a new-build OR extension project based around Slough, United Kingdom. The client is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to lead, coordinate and oversee the HSE activities for the entire project, from inception to completion (including the civil works, M&E installation and commissioning activities). This will include site inspections, client liaison, monthly reporting, construction phase plans, traffic management and providing technical advice on the project.

If you have vast construction & HV industry experience as a HSE Manager, this position will be a brilliant opportunity to get involved in a large scale project, within the renewable energy industry.

Duties:

  • Provide HSE leadership & management for a new-build large energy facility, from construction to complete handover
  • Undertake regular audits and inspections on site. Identify & evaluate areas of improvement
  • Provide, update and finalise monthly reports & KPI''s, construction phase plans, traffic management and provide EHS technical advice on the project
  • Lead the implementation of HSE initiatives
  • Review internal teams and subcontractor personnel activities and manage / follow up Non-conformances
  • Deliver training and site inductions.
  • Attend and be a representative on all site, project, and safety meetings.
  • Ensure sub-contractor safety documents are produced and available on site, relevant and in accordance with best practice and current legislation
  • Assist the Project Manager on the preparation of the safety file for handover to the client at the end of the project

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years'' experience as a HSE Manager on UK construction projects
  • Experience as an HSE Manager on HV substation projects or similar safety critical environments (desirable).
  • Formal education in health and safety, for example a Diploma / NVQ level 6 in H&S (or equivalent)
  • Ability to recommend preventative HSE actions and drive the necessary implementation on site.
  • Tickets needed: , CCNSG, Fire Safety, Accident Investigation, Safety by Design, (NG Persons desirable)
  • IOSH Construction certificate (desirable)
  • Strong CDM awareness
