Support the development of a whole-school or college approach to wellbeing, including influencing policies, creating resources, supporting campaigns, and delivering training, assemblies and PHSE curriculum.Provide timely advice and consultation to education staff to build skills and confidence in supporting students’ wellbeing, offered in both formal and informal formats.Undertake direct assessments and low-intensity interventions for young people within education, predominantly using cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT).Each function accounts for a third of the team’s workload.Qualifications

EssentialSuccessfully completed British Psychological Society (BPS) Accredited or Higher Education England (HEE) Approved academic course of study in line with the CYP IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and will be qualified as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP).Professional registration as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) with an appropriate regulatory body (e.g. BPS or BABCP).Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Experience of working with young people who have emotional distress affecting their mental health.Experience of delivering low-intensity CBT interventions.Experience of working in an education setting.Ability to write clear reports and letters.Ability to manage own caseload and time.Ability to deliver evidence-based LICBT interventions in line with protocols.Computer literacy and good verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.Competent in risk assessment and in developing therapeutic relationships with clients.Understanding of how emotional distress presents in young people and how it relates to use of evidence-based psychological therapies.Additional information
