We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Science to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Portsmouth from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to begin your teaching career within a structured and well-supported environment. You will teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility to specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at Key Stage 4 depending on your subject strength.

As an ECT, you will benefit from a comprehensive induction programme, including a reduced timetable, dedicated mentoring, and regular CPD sessions designed to help you develop your teaching practice and confidence in the classroom.

This is a medium-to-large mixed secondary school with approximately 1,(Apply online only)–1,300 students aged 11–16, serving a diverse coastal community in Portsmouth. The school has a strong focus on academic progress, inclusion, and student wellbeing.

The Science department is well-established and collaborative, with access to modern laboratories, updated equipment, and shared resources across all key stages. There is a strong emphasis on practical learning and engaging students through hands-on scientific enquiry.

• Holds (or is working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
