Must have SEN experience, working with small, low ability groups. Previous experience working with students with Autism and Emotional and Behavioural difficulties will be an advantage. Teaching Assistants support students in the classroom as directed by a teacher in order to help pupils succeed with their learning. The work of a Teaching Assistant can vary greatly depending on where they are working and the individual needs of the pupils. This could include: Assisting the classroom teacher Working with small groups and 1:1 support Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents Help manage pupil behaviour To contribute to the school aims and ethos Help pupils to access the curriculum We would expect you to have excellent literacy and numeracy skills and have previous experience of working with children.
