Salary depends on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training, such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

About the Role:

Help children build confidence, friendships and independence as an Early Years Inclusion Assistant at a welcoming primary school in Stevenage.

Working closely with the class teacher, you will support Reception-age children individually and in small groups, including those with additional needs. Through practical activities, early reading and consistent routines, you will make learning accessible and help children feel included.

This role suits a patient, proactive assistant with early years experience and a calm approach to behaviour support. The interview includes a short group reading activity, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills with children.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar classroom support role.
  
• Experience supporting young children in an early years or primary setting.
  
• Experience providing individual or small-group support for children with additional needs.
  
• An understanding of positive behaviour support and safeguarding.
  
• The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete relevant safeguarding checks.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Support inclusive learning activities and daily classroom routines.
  
• Provide individual and small-group support to encourage participation.
  
• Develop children''s communication, social skills and independence.
  
• Use calm, consistent approaches to behaviour and engagement.
  
• Prepare resources and share observations with the class teacher.
