We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Reception class, supporting young learners as they build confidence and develop key skills to access the world around them.
Job Description
This full-time, long-term position is an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 qualified Early Years professional with a genuine enthusiasm for supporting children in their early yearandrsquo;s education. You will play a key role in nurturing young minds, working closely with the class teacher to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Reception Class Support: Assist in delivering engaging activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to support childrenandrsquo;s learning and development.
- Individual andamp; Group Support: Work with individual pupils and small groups to enhance their confidence and social development.
- Additional Needs Support: Provide targeted support for children with ASD, speech and language difficulties, or other additional needs.
- Encouraging Independence: Help children develop essential life skills, fostering curiosity and self-assurance as they navigate the world around them.
- Classroom Preparation: Assist in setting up creative and stimulating learning spaces.
- Observation andamp; Assessment: Support the class teacher in tracking children''s progress in line with the EYFS curriculum.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare, or equivalent (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education).
- Experience: Previous experience working in a Reception or Early Years setting is essential.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
- Personal Qualities: A warm, patient, and approachable individual with a passion for supporting young children.
- Team Player: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a supportive school environment.
- DBS: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and registration on the update service.
