Early Years Quality Improvement Officer

OverviewJOB TITLE: Early Years Quality Improvement Officer (part time, three days, 21.6 hours per week). The Early Years Team are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and committed Early Years Quality Improvement Officer to join our innovative and highly motivated team. The role involves the development and delivery of training and supporting all early years settings in improving the quality of provision in order to raise achievement and provide good outcomes for the children of Bromley. Based in Bromley Civic Centre, you will be required to provide a responsive and targeted service to early years providers across the Borough. We offer flexible working hours across the week with occasional evening and Saturday work to ensure we meet the needs of the settings.
Please note that this is a permanent post, for three days per week (21.6 hours). The role is for three days per week, all year, and the salary will be paid pro-rata of the full time equivalent.
Responsibilities
Design and delivery of training, which will be a mix of online and face to face training, including high quality training delivery and sound ICT skills.
Provide a responsive and targeted service to early years providers across the Borough.
Support the development of children aged 0-5 years in a range of Early Years settings, including Pre-schools, Day Nurseries and Childminders.
Develop and support training and improve the quality of provision in order to raise achievement and provide good outcomes for children.
Qualifications and requirements
At least a recognised full and relevant level 4 early years and childcare qualification with significant and varied early years experience, working and managing within a range of Early Years Private, Independent and Voluntary (PVI) settings.
A qualification in teaching in the lifelong learning sector would be desirable with significant training experience or willingness to attend training.
A thorough knowledge and understanding of current issues within early years is essential for this post.
Experience of working with and supporting the development of children from 0-5 years of age across a range of settings.
Work pattern and salaryThe interviews will be held in the Bromley Civic Centre. There will be both a candidate presentation and a panel interview. Salary information: Full time salary range: £35,674 - £37,605. Actual pro-rata salary range for 21.6 hours: £21,404 - £22,563. This role is for three days per week only, year-round. The salary will be paid pro rata of the full time equivalent.
