Early Intervention Officer

Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Slough Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience We are looking for an Early Intervention Officer this role will be based at: Chalvey Community Hub, Ladbrooke Road, Slough, SL1 2SR, 2 days in office The right candidate will: We are seeking an experienced Early Intervention and Prevention Officer to join our Housing Needs Service. The postholder will work proactively with households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, identifying practical solutions at the earliest opportunity to help them remain in their current accommodation or secure a suitable alternative. The role will include: Undertaking timely housing assessments and developing effective Personalised Housing Plans. Negotiating with private landlords, letting agents, family members and other parties to prevent homelessness. Supporting households affected by rent arrears, affordability difficulties, relationship breakdown or the loss of private rented accommodation. Identifying suitable private rented housing and helping applicants access deposits, rent in advance and other financial assistance. Working closely with internal services and partner agencies to address barriers to sustaining accommodation.
