Electrical & Instrument Technician
Location: Greatham, Teesside

Help keep a major manufacturing site running safely and reliably
Wolviston Management Services is proud to be working in partnership with TIOXIDE to recruit an Electrical & Instrument Technician for their Greatham site.
This is a hands-on maintenance role where you will support the safe, reliable operation of plant electrical and instrumentation equipment. You will complete planned and emergent work, support fault diagnosis, carry out testing and commissioning, and help identify improvements that enhance plant stability, uptime and quality.
You will work closely with the E&I Lead, E&I Supervisor and wider manufacturing teams in a complex process manufacturing environment.
What you’ll be doing
You will:
- Complete planned and emergent electrical and instrumentation work to site standards.
- Report any non-conformances that could affect safety, quality or equipment reliability.
- Coordinate maintenance activity in line with safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit requirements.
- Carry out functional and evaluation tests on specialist instrument and electrical systems.
- Use systems such as MOD300, DeltaV and SAP to support fault diagnosis, reporting and maintenance records.
- Test and commission new or modified electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Respond effectively to planned and emergent I/E issues, selecting the right course of action and communicating clearly with supervisors.
- Identify and recommend improvements to improve plant stability, uptime and quality.
- Apply problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, to resolve operating and maintenance issues.
- Provide clear handovers and maintain accurate electronic logs and records.
- Support a positive, values-led culture focused on safety, teamwork and doing things right first time.
- NVQ Level 3, or equivalent knowledge, in Instrument, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience maintaining electrical and/or instrumentation equipment in manufacturing, chemical, process, utilities or another industrial environment.
- A good understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit-to-work processes.
- Experience using maintenance systems, electronic logs or SAP, or the willingness to learn.
- The ability to diagnose faults, solve problems and respond effectively to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, safety-focused approach.
