A well-established secondary school is looking to appoint a skilled and reliable DT Technician to join their Design & Technology department immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong practical skills who enjoys working in an educational environment and supporting both teachers and students in delivering engaging, practical DT lessons.

The Role

As a DT Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the Design & Technology department.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons
• Supporting teachers with the preparation and delivery of practical activities
• Maintaining and organising workshops, tools and equipment
• Ensuring equipment is safe, clean and ready for use
• Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs where appropriate
• Supporting students and staff with practical resources
• Managing stock and ordering materials when required
• Ensuring all workshop and equipment safety procedures are followed
• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience working as a DT Technician, workshop technician or in a relevant practical environment
• Have strong practical and technical skills
• Hold relevant health & safety qualifications
• Have a strong understanding of workshop safety and safe working practices
• Be confident working with a range of tools, machinery and materials
• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently
• Have good communication skills and enjoy working with young people
• Be committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety

Experience within a secondary school would be advantageous, but candidates with relevant practical and technical experience will also be considered.
