DT Technician
The Supply Register is currently recruiting for a Design and Technology Technician to work within a secondary school in Birmingham, starting in September. Location: BirminghamHours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pmContract: Term Time OnlyStart Date: September 2026 The Role: As a DT Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Design and Technology department, ensuring practical lessons run smoothly and that equipment and materials are prepared safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons. Maintain and organise workshops, classrooms and storage areas. Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored safely. Assist teaching staff during practical lessons where required. Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering materials and equipment. Carry out routine maintenance of machinery and tools in line with health and safety guidelines. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, COSHH and school procedures at all times. Dispose of waste materials safely and maintain a clean working environment. Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Head of Department or School Leadership Team. Requirements: Previous experience in a DT Technician, workshop, engineering, manufacturing or maintenance role is desirable. Knowledge of workshop tools, machinery and health and safety procedures.
