DT Teacher

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in Birmingham that is seeking to appoint a DT Teacher. Rated ‘GOOD’ by OFSTED, this smaller, community-focused school is committed to delivering a first-class education, promoting inclusivity, and equipping students with the modern digital and technological skills needed for future success.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated DT Teacher on a long-term temporary basis from September 2026. The successful DT Teacher will be responsible for teaching Design Technology with a focus on Resistant Materials across KS3 and KS4, planning and delivering engaging practical lessons, monitoring student progress, and maintaining high standards of achievement and classroom management.

The successful DT Teacher will have:

• QTS with a Design Technology specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)

• Experience teaching Design Technology and Resistant Materials up to Key Stage 4 / KS4

• Strong knowledge of workshop health and safety procedures

• Excellent classroom management skills

• The ability to assess, monitor and support student progress effectively

• A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching
