About the Role

This temporary Drivers Mate role in Chepstow involves supporting home delivery rounds, primarily for white goods. Working Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 16:30, the successful applicant assists a driver with loading, carrying and installing items at customers' properties. Pay is up to £12.71 hourly, with 28 days' paid leave pro rata plus retail discounts and access to an upskilling programme. Candidates should be physically fit, reliable and comfortable working as part of a two-person crew. Strong communication and a courteous manner are essential when entering homes. The contract offers possible permanent status for suitable applicants.

What you''ll do on a typical day:

Assist with white goods deliveries, accompanied by a driver''s mate.
Execute two types of deliveries: home deliveries and kerbside deliveries.
For home deliveries, transport items to the customer''s room of choice, including carrying items to homes that may be several stories high.
For kerbside deliveries, hand off items directly to individuals on building sites.
Deliver items such as white goods (e.g., dishwashers, washing machines, fridges), kitchen units, and worktops.
Handle multidrop deliveries, with the number of stops varying daily.
Use a handheld scanner and complete all necessary paperwork.
Physical fitness is essential for this role due to the nature of the work.
Strong communication skills and a positive demeanour are required for direct interaction with customers.

What you need to succeed with our client:

Cat B licence preferred.
No more than six penalty points on your licence and no DD, DR, IN or CD endorsements.
Multidrop delivery experience.
Excellent knowledge of the UK road network.
A can-do attitude.
