Driver Supervisor

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Driver Supervisor to join a busy Waste Management team based in Skelmersdale on an ongoing temporary contract.

This is a full-time role working 8:30am to 4:15pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Waste Management Officer with the day-to-day supervision of waste collection teams.
• Allocate work and provide clear instructions to operational crews, ensuring all duties are completed within agreed timescales.
• Support the collection of domestic, commercial and industrial waste, recycling and compostable materials across the borough.
• Monitor the progress of collection rounds and complete all required service and round status information.
• Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment are used safely and correctly, reporting any defects through the appropriate channels.
• Promote high standards of customer service, health and safety, hygiene and operational performance.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety legislation, safe working practices and manufacturer operating procedures.
• Make full use of in-cab technology and complete all required service documentation accurately.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within waste management, refuse collection, environmental services or a similar operational environment.
• Experience leading, coordinating or supervising frontline operational teams.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
