About the Role
The Driver Operative role based in Trafford involves operating an 18-tonne skip vehicle for commercial customer deliveries and collections. Working Monday to Friday from 04:00 to 14:00, this temporary position pays up to £14.50 per hour. Key duties include driving safely, conducting daily vehicle safety checks, and reporting defects. To safely operate an 18-tonne skip vehicle, delivering and collecting skips from commercial customer sites, and to operate a Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) when required to collect commercial waste containers.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and operate an 18-tonne skip vehicle.
- Deliver and collect skips from commercial customer premises.
- Operate an RCV to collect commercial waste containers when required.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects.
- Ensure all collections and deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.
- Follow company policies and health and safety procedures.
- Provide a professional and courteous service to customers.
- Complete any required paperwork accurately.
Person Specification
- Valid HGV licence and Driver CPC.
- Previous experience driving a skip vehicle.
- Good understanding of road safety and vehicle operation.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Experience operating a Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) is not required but desirable.
