Closing date: 14 th August Driver LGV Greenbank, Newry Temporary (Approx 4 weeks) £14.52 per hour 36 hours per week Main Purpose Working within the Environmental Cleansing Service (Refuse Collection), the post holder will be required to provide, in a safe and effective manner, a quality and efficient Refuse Collection Service including all recycling collection activities, in all weather conditions. The post holder, as Team Leader, will be expected to interact with the public in an appropriate manner and within own initiative to ensure service is provided within the area of responsibility of the post holder. The post holder may be required to drive any vehicle requiring a LGV Category C class of licence, providing relevant training has been provided. The post holder will also be responsible for staff supervised on a day to day basis. Main Roles and Responsibilities Drive and be responsible for the operation of a refuse collection vehicle or skip collection vehicle for the purpose of the removal and disposal of refuse and recyclable material. Responsible for ensuring with the crew, the best operational relationships between the service and members of the public, and that the crew observe Council policies and procedures and operate efficiently to work schedules. Drive and be responsible for any vehicle up to LGV Category C standard requiring specialist driving skills. Vehicle checks requiring routine maintenance (e.g. Oil and water checks).
