Berry Recruitment are looking for a Driver for our client based in Bury St Edmunds.

POSITION: Driver

FUNCTION: To ensure timeous professional delivery/collection of equipment to/from customers.

LOCATION: Bury St Edmund''s

REPORTING TO: Hire & Sales Co-ordinators/Workshop Foreman

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Deliver & collect equipment to/from customers ensuring accurate completion of paperwork (obtaining authorised signatures/noting damages/fuel levels/correct equipment numbers)
* Start machines on site when requested
* Basic vehicle maintenance/ensuring roadworthiness and safety of vehicle (carry out daily vehicle checks in accordance with Group procedures)
* Check equipment against paperwork received from hire desk prior to delivery
* Safe loading/unloading of all equipment and equipment onto/from vehicles (strapping/chaining/roping)
* Tag up damaged machines on return to depot and locate in correct area within depot yard/workshop.
* Where applicable ensure digital Tacho''s are used and downloaded in line with current legislation
* Abide by customer Health & Safety rules when on site
* Keep workshop and vehicle organised, clean and tidy and assist with general workshop duties as and when required.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Foreman or Depot Manager

You are required to ensure you are fit for work at all times and take reasonable care of your own safety, protect others affected by your work, cooperate with management to comply with all safety standards and instructions to meet health and safety obligations, including: reporting hazards, reporting safety shortcomings and the immediate reporting of safety incidents and near misses. You are required to follow all safety training provided and correctly use all work equipment and safety equipment provided. You are required to stop and report unsafe practices immediately and to cooperate with any investigation that is undertaken by the client.

* Zero complaints from customers
* Zero complaints from other road users
* Managers feed-back (on-going managers appraisal)
* FTA analysis and compliance reports
