Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Joinery Draughtsperson to join our bespoke joinery manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise and detailed technical drawings and plans for custom joinery projects, ensuring they meet client specifications and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and detailed plans for bespoke joinery pieces including kitchens, wardrobes, staircases, and furniture.
- Interpret and translate client specifications, sketches, and CAD designs into production-ready drawings.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure design feasibility and smooth production processes.
- Prepare detailed cutting lists, material specifications, and assembly instructions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building standards, health and safety regulations, and company quality standards.
- Amend and update drawings based on client feedback and project modifications.
- Assist in site surveys and measurements when required.
- Maintain organised documentation of all drawings and revisions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a joinery draughtsperson or in a similar role within bespoke or high-end joinery manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong understanding of timber, materials, joinery methods, and construction processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, designers, and production teams.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and client requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant building and safety standards.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience with 3D modelling software.
- Background in high-end bespoke furniture or cabinetry.
- Creative problem-solving skills and an eye for design precision.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in architecture, engineering, or joinery (e.g. HND, HNC, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a similar environment is highly desirable.
