About the Role

Prospero Teaching is pleased to be working with a welcoming secondary school in Rotherham to recruit a creative and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama. This is a part-time opportunity, working Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of the academic year.

The role offers a varied timetable, with a particular focus on delivering engaging Drama lessons while also supporting the wider school through general cover where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Drama lessons that inspire and engage students
• Teach across Key Stages (primarily KS3/KS4 depending on timetable)
• Provide general classroom cover on Wednesdays, alongside two scheduled Drama lessons
• Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Mark and assess work where required

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Has experience teaching Drama at secondary level
• Is confident delivering both specialist Drama lessons and general cover lessons
• Demonstrates strong classroom management and adaptability
• Has a passion for the performing arts and student development
• Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to obtain one)
