Salary: -180 - -240 per day based on experience



Job Overview


Clarence Recruitment are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Drama to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons that develop students'' performance skills, creativity and confidence. The role involves teaching drama across the curriculum, enabling students to explore a range of theatrical techniques, styles and texts.
The successful candidate will foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves, collaborate with others and develop their communication skills. The role also includes contributing to the wider life of the school through performances and extracurricular activities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality drama lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that supports creative learning.
  • Teach a range of drama techniques, performance styles and theatrical practices.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with organisational policies.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources.
  • Organise, direct and support school productions, performances and extracurricular activities.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed during rehearsals and performances.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support student development.
  • Participate in meetings, parents'' evenings and whole-school activities.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students, including tutor responsibilities where required.


Person Specification


Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for drama and performance.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to assess and track student progress.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.


Desirable

  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and 5 if applicable).
  • Experience directing or producing performances or school productions.
  • Ability to contribute to extracurricular drama activities or clubs.
  • Experience of using data to improve student outcomes.
