Domestic Violence Advisor

Location: Gloucestershire – opportunities available in Gloucester, Tewkesbury or Stroud

Salary: £30,553 + £750 car allowance per annum
Contract: Fixed term until 30/06/2027, subject to extension
Hours: 37 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced Domestic Abuse professional to join the GDASS team as a Multi-Agency Child Protection Team Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (MACPT IDVA).

There are opportunities to be based in Gloucester, Tewkesbury or Stroud, with a requirement to work across Gloucestershire when demand requires.

You’ll provide specialist domestic abuse advice, support and safety planning to adults and families working with Children’s Services. You’ll help keep people safe; ensure children’s experiences are recognised and strengthen partnership working across Gloucestershire.

What You’ll Do

You’ll manage a caseload, assess and manage risk, develop safety plans and provide practical, emotional and specialist domestic abuse support, work closely with social workers, family support workers and other professionals to provide a coordinated, trauma-informed response.

You’ll also attend Child Protection Conferences, Child in Need meetings, Strategy Meetings, MARACs and other multi-agency forums, providing specialist domestic abuse advice and guidance.

What We Need

You’ll have experience supporting vulnerable people, assessing and managing risk, and a strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on adults and children.

You’ll also bring:

• Experience of risk assessment and safety planning
• Experience working with children and/or families
• Experience working with Social Services or statutory agencies
• Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and relevant legislation
• The ability to build effective relationships across multiple agencies
• An IDVA qualification, or willingness to achieve an equivalent qualification

You’ll need access to your own transport and be able to meet lone-working requirements.
