Job Title: Domestic Gas Engineer
Location: Epping Forest, Essex
Salary: -38,000 - -40,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Overview
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team in Epping Forest. This is a permanent position offering excellent benefits, job security, and the opportunity to work on meaningful social housing contracts within the local community. Previous experience in social housing is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out gas servicing, repairs, and installations across a range of boiler manufacturers and systems
- Complete fault-finding and diagnostic work on boilers, heating systems, and appliances
- Undertake Landlord Gas Safety Records (LGSRs/CP12s) and ensure compliance with legislation
- Deliver a high first-time fix rate, ensuring residents receive a reliable and professional service
- Liaise with tenants, supervisors, and other trades to complete works to a high standard
- Use handheld devices to log work, update job status, and record LGSRs accurately
- Maintain safe working practices in line with Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 and health & safety requirements
- Participate in the out-of-hours rota when required
- Order and collect materials, keeping van stock well maintained
- Represent the business in a professional manner, acting as an ambassador when dealing with residents
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, MET1)
- Current Gas Safe Registration (or eligibility)
- Unvented Hot Water (G3) qualification desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong background in social housing or local authority contracts is required
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience using PDA/handheld devices to log and complete jobs
- DBS check (or willingness to undertake one)
- CSCS card desirable
