Domestic Gas Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Gas Safe Engineer to install, service, maintain, and repair gas appliances and heating systems in residential and/or commercial properties. The successful candidate must be Gas Safe registered and capable of working safely, efficiently, and in compliance with UK gas safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair gas boilers, cookers, fires, and central heating systems.

• Carry out annual gas safety inspections and issue Gas Safety Certificates (CP12).

• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on gas appliances and heating systems.

• Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe regulations and current health & safety standards.

• Perform routine servicing of boilers and heating systems.

• Respond to emergency call-outs when required.

• Provide excellent customer service and explain work carried out to clients.

• Maintain accurate records of jobs, parts used, and safety documentation.

• Identify and report additional work required to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Gas Safe Registration

• Relevant NVQ / City & Guilds qualification in Gas Engineering or Plumbing & Heating

• ACS Gas Qualifications (e.g., CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1)

• Full UK Driving Licence

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience servicing and repairing domestic gas appliances

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Knowledge of UK gas safety regulations and compliance standards

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Attention to detail and strong safety awareness
