In this vital Domestic Abuse Support Worker role, you''ll provide trauma-informed, needs-led, and strengths-based support to survivors, helping them to:

Job Details:

  • Job Title: Domestic Abuse Support Worker
  • Location: Office Based - Barry, Vale of Glamorgan
  • Salary Range: -24,054 - 27,344
  • Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week, Monday to Friday)
  • Contract: Permanent (dependent on funding)

What you''ll do as a Domestic Abuse Support Worker:

  • Be the first point of contact for survivors, ensuring they understand their rights and available services
  • Deliver immediate crisis intervention and support planning tailored to each survivor''s needs and strengths
  • Develop trusting, professional relationships to aid recovery and future planning
  • Assist clients in navigating housing options and advocating on their behalf
  • Facilitate access to other services and engagement opportunities
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, evaluating progress and adjusting support plans as necessary

What You''ll Need:

  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse
  • Experience in providing emotional and practical support, with excellent case management skills
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and a trauma-informed approach
  • Ability to uphold the charity values of curiosity, strength, collaboration, self-awareness, kindness, inclusivity, integrity, and dedication
