Divisional Manager – Social Housing Refurbishment

Location: London & South East - Hybrid

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established construction and property services business delivering a range of refurbishment, retrofit and building safety residential and public sector markets.

With a strong pipeline of work and ongoing growth, the business is seeking an experienced Divisional Manager to lead operational delivery across a portfolio of projects and support the continued development of its regional team.

This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to influence strategy, drive performance and play a key role in the successful delivery of complex construction and building safety programmes.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will oversee multiple refurbishment projects providing strategic direction and operational support across a range of contracts.

Working closely with operational, commercial and pre-construction teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with business objectives while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership across a portfolio of refurbishment, retrofit and building safety projects.
  • Drive operational performance, profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Lead and support Operations Managers, Contracts Managers, Site Managers and wider project teams.
  • Work collaboratively with commercial and technical teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to improve project outcomes and business performance.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
  • Support business development activity and contribute to future growth opportunities.
  • Develop, mentor and retain talent across the division.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement within project delivery.

About You

To be considered, you will have significant experience operating at a senior level within the construction sector, ideally managing refurbishment projects. 

You will also demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership experience managing multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • A successful track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and within budget.
  • Commercial awareness and financial management expertise.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
