Dispersed Housing Support Worker
Location: Preston (covering Preston, Chorley, Leyland and Fleetwood)
Salary: -27,261 - -30,308 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: Part Time
Rotherwood Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Dispersed Housing Support Worker on behalf of a well-established organisation supporting vulnerable adults across Lancashire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping people achieve and maintain independent living.
This is a community-based role, supporting individuals living in dispersed accommodation across Preston, with regular travel to Chorley, Leyland and Fleetwood. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
The Role
As a Dispersed Housing Support Worker, you will manage your own caseload, providing practical and emotional support to individuals with a range of complex needs. You will help customers develop independent living skills, sustain their tenancy and access the services they need to move forward positively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of clients living in dispersed accommodation.
- Complete support, needs and risk assessments.
- Develop and review person-centred support plans.
- Carry out regular welfare visits and property inspections.
- Support clients to develop independent living and budgeting skills.
- Assist with accessing benefits, healthcare, education and employment.
- Liaise with housing providers, local authorities and external agencies.
- Support clients to sustain their tenancy and move into long-term accommodation.
- Monitor rent accounts and encourage timely payments.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, tenancy breaches and anti-social behaviour.
- Maintain accurate case notes, reports and support records.
- Ensure properties meet health and safety standards and report repairs.
- Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to positive outcomes.
- Promote equality, inclusion and safeguarding at all times.
- Work in line with organisational policies and professional standards.
What We''re Looking For
- Previous experience within supported housing, homelessness, tenancy support or community-based support services.
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Confident working with external agencies and partner organisations.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
