GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Disability Classroom Support professional to join a school in Weymouth starting immediately.

About the Role:
As a Disability Classroom Support, you will work alongside teaching staff to support pupils with disabilities throughout the school day. You will assist in creating an inclusive classroom environment, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help ensure each pupil can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with disabilities.
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and adapting resources for pupils’ needs.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Help with personal care and mobility assistance where needed.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem in pupils.
- Monitor and report pupil progress to teaching staff.
- Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to meet pupil needs.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with disabilities in a school or similar setting.
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent (desirable).
- A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling or a similar field is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
