Director - Special Credits (EMEA)

We are working with a leading international bank on the appointment of a Director - Special Credits (EMEA) to lead the management of stressed and distressed credit exposures across the region. The role sits within a dedicated special credits/workout function and will have significant visibility with senior management and regulators.The opportunity:Lead the oversight and active management of a portfolio of stressed and distressed corporate and institutional credits across EMEA.Shape workout and restructuring strategies that protect the bank''s position while supporting viable business turnaround where appropriate.Act as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders, including risk, front-office coverage teams, legal and external advisers.Key responsibilities:Make balanced, timely and well-reasoned credit recommendations and decisions within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with the bank''s risk appetite.Lead or participate in negotiations with borrowers, lender groups, shareholders and advisers to deliver optimal restructuring and recovery outcomes.Develop and implement workout strategies for under-performing, high-risk and non-performing exposures, maximising recovery while managing reputational, conduct and regulatory risk.Provide clear, concise reporting to senior management and relevant governance committees on portfolio trends, emerging risks and case progress.Coach and develop more junior team members, helping to build a high-performing EMEA special credits team ..... full job details .....
