Our client, London Borough of Newham,is looking for a Director of Environment and Sustainable Transport to join their Team. MUST HAVE LOCAL AUTHORITY EXPERIENCE To lead and manage a portfolio of services including: Street cleansing, recycling and waste management; Highways, traffic management, Parking services and sustainable transport; Parks and open spaces, and grounds maintenance; Licensing and regulatory services (trading standards, licensing, health and safety, food safety, registrars and cemetery, animal welfare); and Community safety (emergency and business continuity planning, CCTV control room; police contract, neighbourhood operations and anti-social behaviour enforcement). Climate Action and SustainabilityAs a member of the Corporate Leadership Board (CLB), to work collaboratively with other corporate directors and external stakeholders to achieve the Council''s Corporate Plan and priorities.Role context1. The post holder reports to the Chief Executive.2. The post holder has line management responsibility for up to 5 direct reports and overall responsibility for all staff in the Environment and Sustainable Transport directorate.3. The post holder has responsibility for all services within the directorate and oversight and management of all aspects of the budget (in excess of 64m) in the Environment and Sustainable Transport directorate.4.
