The Director, Manufacturing and Site Lead role at LGC offers a chance to lead in innovative manufacturing in a dynamic setting.Responsibilities
Lead manufacturing teams and site administration to ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standardsResponsible for personnel activities of direct reports including budgeting, staffing, training, performance evaluations, mentoring and coaching, and goal setting including setting employee objectives linked to business initiatives and other key performance indicatorsDevelop and implement operational plans and site prioritiesDrive Operational Excellence to reduce cost, improve efficiency, quality, safety and customer experienceEnsure manufacturing consistency, quality conformance, and compliance of all product specificationsMotivate and engage local workforce, identify and nurture critical talent to support business goalsEnsure a culture that values and promotes compliance, customer happiness, safety, quality, teamwork and goal achievementCoordinate and communicate with local business collaboratorsPerform other duties as required to meet business needsQualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, operations, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experienceA minimum of a decade of experience within a manufacturing or life sciences organization, with at least 5 years in a leadership rolePrevious experience with facilities management and/or building maintenance, preferably in lab environmentsDemonstrated success leading, managing, and motivating peopleUnderstanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality systemsEvident understanding and implementation of Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement conceptsProven success managing and developing people, group problem solving, and managing customer relationships in an operational or project environmentProficient computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPointPreferred Qualifications:Graduate degree in engineering or life sciences (biology, biochemistry, genomics) requiredPrior work experience in a biotechnology, medical device, or pharmaceutical organizationFormal lean manufacturing certifications (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, etc.)Experience in Supply Chain and ERP systemsCompetencies and Behaviours
