Dimensional Engineer (GD&T)

Dimensional Engineer (GD&T) -  Contract - Immediately Available
 
We looking for an experienced GD&T Specialist / Engineer to support Strip Tinning Automotive on a contract basis. This role will focus on making sure component drawings, tolerances and inspection requirements are clear, practical and fit for manufacture.
 
Responsibilities:

• Review engineering drawings and assess the application of GD&T.
• Define and refine datums, tolerance schemes and dimensional requirements.
• Identify tolerance issues that could affect assembly, function or manufacturability.
• Work with design, manufacturing and quality teams to resolve dimensional queries.
• Support inspection planning and help ensure drawings can be measured consistently.
• Communicate technical findings and recommended changes clearly to stakeholders.

• Strong practical experience applying GD&T to engineering drawings.
• A sound understanding of datum systems, tolerance stack-ups and how parts fit together.
• Experience working with manufacturing and inspection teams to resolve dimensional issues.
• The ability to work independently and make an immediate contribution.
• Automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
