Digital Service Asset and Configuration Management Technician

Role: Digital Service Asset and Configuration Management Job DescriptionType: ContractLocation: Chelmsford, UKThe RoleAs a SACM Technician, you will ensure that every piece of IT equipment-from laptops and smartphones to complex audio-visual setups-is accounted for, functional, and secure. You will balance technical "hands-on" troubleshooting with the meticulous management of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB).Key Responsibilities:Lifecycle Management: Oversee IT assets from initial acquisition and deployment through to decommissioning and secure disposal in compliance with WEEE regulations.Technical Support: Provide second-line technical support, including fault diagnosis, maintenance, and root cause analysis for end-user devices and peripherals.Database Integrity: Maintain the accuracy of the CMDB, ensuring all configuration items are recorded and audited regularly.Compliance andamp; Security: Ensure all user devices remain within one version of the current operating system release to maintain high security and compatibility standards.Project andamp; AV Support: Lead the setup and maintenance of audio-visual equipment and assist with the deployment of assets during major IT projects.Collaborative Support: Work closely with the Digital Service Desk to provide operational cover and assist with high-demand periods or complex service requests.What We Are Looking ForTechnical Expertise: Proven experience in second-line IT support and hardware troubleshooting.Detail ..... full job details .....
