About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and creative Marketing Communications Assistant to join our team. This is a varied position working closely with the Director of Communications & Marketing, covering all aspects of digital engagement, content creation, and communications support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in producing newsletters, managing social media, updating the website, supporting alumni communications, and assisting with event promotion. This is an excellent opportunity to gain wide-ranging experience within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities

Draft and send weekly newsletters via MailChimp.

Produce engaging digital newsletters for different audiences.

Maintain and update website content, including news stories, copy, and images.

Plan, create, and schedule social media content across multiple platforms.

Support alumni engagement through database management and digital communications.

Write, edit, and proofread articles, newsletters, and press releases.

Produce marketing materials such as flyers, adverts, and digital campaigns.

Assist with the organisation and promotion of events including open days, concerts, and plays.

Capture and edit photography to support digital and print communications.

Ensure accurate and up-to-date representation in external directories and education guides.
Requirements
Essential

Strong administrative and organisational skills with a high degree of IT literacy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.

Experience using MailChimp or similar platforms.

Professional experience managing social media.

Confidence in updating and maintaining website content.

Copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.

Ability to work independently, with a proactive and creative mindset.

Flexible, collaborative, and able to thrive in a busy environment.
Desirable

Graphic design skills (InDesign, Photoshop, Canva).

Photography and image editing experience.

Knowledge of Google Analytics, Meta Ads, or similar tools.

CRM or database management experience.

Event organisation and brand management experience.
