DIG - Spacecraft Operator Engineer

Our client, a leader in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a skilled Spacecraft Operations System Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Alton, with potential for hybrid working.Key Responsibilities:Collaborating with System Engineers to shape the CONOPS for future missionsIdentifying and communicating spacecraft operations requirements and constraints for missionsSupporting the delivery of internal and external milestone reviews for projectsDeveloping, maintaining and reviewing operational procedures, including flight operations handbooks and spacecraft commissioning proceduresConducting real-time spacecraft operations during routine and critical/anomaly investigation phasesContributing to planning, scheduling, and coordination with system engineers, flight dynamics, and ground software teamsSupporting the development and continual improvement of operational tools for customer service deliveryProviding health reports to governing bodiesJob Requirements:Essential:Degree in a relevant engineering disciplineExperience in the satellite industry, ideally in spacecraft operationsStrong understanding of satellite subsystems, especially AOCS/GNC or OBDHGood understanding of ground systems and toolsHands-on experience with mission control systems, operations tools, and simulatorsProven ability to perform under pressureStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent team working skills, with the ability to interface across various ..... full job details .....
