Diagnostic Technician

Our client is a well-established main dealership in Shrewsbury and is looking for an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join their busy Service Department. Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics using manufacturer and specialist diagnostic equipment.
  
  
• Identify and rectify complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic faults efficiently and accurately.
  
  
• Undertake servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a wide range of vehicles to the highest standard.
  
  
• Complete repairs in line with manufacturer repair methods, times, and company procedures.
  
  
• Support fellow technicians with technical guidance and complex fault diagnosis where required.
  
  
• Accurately complete diagnostic reports, vehicle health checks, and repair documentation.
  
  
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer and dealership standards.
  
  
• Liaise professionally with Service Advisors and customers to explain technical findings when required.
  
  
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  
  

Minimum Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  
  
• At least 3 years'' post-qualification experience as a Vehicle Technician or Diagnostic Technician within a main dealership or similar workshop environment.
  
  
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, and fault-finding skills.
  
  
• Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
  
  
• Excellent technical knowledge of modern vehicle systems.
  
  
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
  
  
• Full UK Driving Licence.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
• A commitment to producing high-quality work.
